Cathy Rose is an enthusiastic writer of fiction and creative nonfiction. Originally from Williamsburg, VA, she now calls San Francisco, CA home. She has been a university lecturer in creative writing and currently practices as a psychologist. She holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from San Francisco State University.
Her stories have appeared in the literary magazines, The Greensboro Review, Fifth Wednesday Journal, Your Impossible Voice, Fourteen Hills, Santa Clara Review and elsewhere, and in two fiction anthologies. Her work has been performed by Tell on Tuesday at the Julia Morgan Theatre in Berkeley, CA.
She has been awarded residencies at The Museum of Loss and Renewal, Dorland Mountain Arts Colony, Joya AIR, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Foundation Obras, La Porte Peinte Centre for the Arts, Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and The Hambidge Center. She has received fellowships to attend the Prague Summer Literary Program and the Summer Literary Seminar in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Forthcoming: A collaborative book project with London, artist, Tash Kahn, entitled Looking Twice, will be published by the Museum of Loss and Renewal, Collemacchia Italy and made available later in 2024.
